Building an organic acquisition foundation in a competitive crypto market
THE CHALLENGE
Paysmaker entered a highly competitive cryptocurrency swap market dominated by established platforms with significantly greater search visibility, authority and brand recognition.
The opportunity wasn't simply to generate more traffic.
Paysmaker needed a stronger acquisition foundation: a website structure capable of capturing transactional demand at scale, clearer differentiation in a crowded market, and a strategy for building authority beyond individual cryptocurrency swap searches.
CB Marketing's role was to identify where Paysmaker could compete effectively and build the infrastructure required to support sustainable organic growth.
01
Building the foundations
The first priority was creating a structure that search engines and users could understand and navigate.
We developed a scalable architecture connecting:
Swap platform → cryptocurrency hubs → individual swap pairs
The initial structure combined the main /swap experience with dedicated cryptocurrency hubs and individual pair pages, supported by contextual internal linking, FAQs and clearer crawl paths.
Alongside the architecture, technical and indexing work addressed URL structures, canonicals, sitemap consistency, redirects, robots directives, structured data and other issues affecting discovery and indexation.
Rather than simply creating more pages, the objective was to build a connected acquisition system in which authority could flow between informational and commercially valuable areas of the website.
02
Letting the evidence change the strategy
Once the new architecture began generating search data, an important pattern emerged.
Monero and privacy-related searches were showing disproportionately strong visibility. At the same time, Paysmaker's Best No KYC Crypto Exchanges content began appearing across dozens of search queries shortly after publication.
That changed the strategy.
Instead of continuing to scale hundreds of similar transactional pages simply because they existed on the original roadmap, we paused further expansion and followed what the search data was telling us.
Paysmaker had an opportunity to build a more distinctive position around:
privacy, self-custody, no-account swapping, wallet-to-wallet exchange and No-KYC education.
The transactional architecture remained important, but it became the commercial layer beneath a much broader acquisition strategy.
03
From search pages to an acquisition ecosystem
The next phase focused on building authority around that positioning.
A privacy and self-custody content framework was developed to connect educational search demand with Paysmaker's commercial swap infrastructure.
Supporting assets were developed around subjects including:
- No-KYC cryptocurrency exchanges
- Buying Monero without KYC
- Wallet-to-wallet crypto swaps
- Self-custody and control of digital assets
Internal linking was designed to move naturally from educational content into relevant cryptocurrency hubs, the main swap experience and individual transactional pages.
External authority building followed the same principle.
Rather than treating backlinks as a numbers exercise, opportunities were assessed according to their actual relevance and potential acquisition value. This included crypto publications, privacy ecosystems, directories, PR distribution and outreach to comparison articles already ranking for commercially relevant No-KYC searches.
Potential placements were evaluated at page level, considering existing search visibility, traffic, referring domains, link characteristics and topical relevance rather than relying on domain authority alone.
EARLY EVIDENCE OF PROGRESS
The foundations began producing measurable search visibility.
During an early 28-day reporting period:
The following major reporting period recorded:
This represented approximately 322% growth in monthly impressions compared with the earlier ~1,200-impression benchmark.
More importantly, the search data began revealing where Paysmaker had the strongest opportunity to build authority, allowing subsequent investment to follow demonstrated market behaviour rather than a predetermined keyword roadmap.
WHAT WAS BUILT
More than a collection of optimised pages.
Paysmaker now has the foundations of an interconnected organic acquisition system:
Search infrastructure
A scalable structure connecting the swap platform, cryptocurrency hubs and individual transaction pairs.
Topical infrastructure
A strategic position connecting privacy, self-custody, No-KYC education, wallet-to-wallet exchange and Monero.
Content infrastructure
Educational assets designed to build authority and introduce Paysmaker earlier in the customer journey.
Internal authority pathways
Structured connections between informational content and commercially valuable areas of the website.
External authority programme
A selective approach to publications, ecosystem listings, comparison content, PR and third-party references.
Measurement framework
Search Console and competitive data used to identify emerging opportunities and adapt strategy accordingly.
THE OUTCOME
From isolated organic-search activity towards a structured acquisition system.
The most important result wasn't simply an increase in search impressions.
It was moving Paysmaker from isolated organic-search activity towards a structured acquisition system capable of learning and evolving as real search behaviour develops.
The original strategy changed when the evidence changed.
Transactional architecture established the foundation. Search data revealed an emerging privacy opportunity. Educational content began building topical depth around it. External authority activity was then aligned with the same positioning.
The result is a stronger foundation from which Paysmaker can continue developing organic visibility, authority and acquisition in an exceptionally competitive market.
